On the 11th Annual National Day of Silence, Erin Davies was victim to a hate crime in Albany, New York. Because of sporting a rainbow sticker on her VW Beetle, Erin's car was vandalized, left with the words "fag" and "u r gay" placed on the driver's side window and hood of her car. Despite initial shock and embarrassment, Erin decided to embrace what happened by leaving the graffiti on her car. She took her car, now known worldwide as the "fagbug," on a 58-day trip around the United States and Canada. Along the way, Erin discovered other, more serious hate crimes, had people attempt to remove the graffiti, and experimented with having a male drive her car. Directors Kalima Young & Erin Davies base the 6-month improvisation writing sessions on the Hero's Journey, teaching each young person to see themselves as the heroes in their own lives. In the works...This film takes you behind the wheel of what it's like to drive the gayest car in the universe. With the car being brighter than ever, the interviews are flaming. Join Erin's quest to get the Fagbug to all 50 states, including long voyages to Alaska and Hawaii. Watch as a brand built on vandalism brings homosexuale marketing into the realm of craft beers with her new beer line called Fagbrew. The anonymous notes left on the car reach 1,000 and the speedometer breaks just in time for the fagbug to retire. Now that Erin and the fagbug have settled down, they're ready to have a family to pass on the tradition.
